02 / Our story
Two friends.
A shared love
of making music.
We are John Saddler and Reuben Ayres, long-time friends and musical collaborators based in Devon, England. We began making music together in the early 2000s and played pubs and clubs across the South West in our covers band, Reflux.
In 2018, we reunited to form Lunar Plexus and concentrate on original music. Working from our home studio, we blend indie rock and pop with introspective lyrics and rich, melodic arrangements, moving between intimate songs and more expansive, cinematic productions.
John writes the songs and sings all the lead and backing vocals. We share guitar and keyboard parts; Reuben also plays bass and drums and handles recording, mixing and mastering. Every musical and artistic decision is made together: it is a 50:50 collaboration, and the songs evolve as we work.
Our music has featured on New Artist Spotlight and in a Cool Top 20 interview, with airplay on international independent and online radio.

The Game
“Every part of this song flows as easily and simply as modern pop, yet very little of the song is easy or simple.”
